For years we have said, "Wouldn't it be great to have a little bit of property and build a house?" It's one of those comments you throw around because as I've always told my kids "Dreams are free". For the last 8-10 years we've spent time driving around on weekends looking at what's out there. Scouring the internet for pieces of land became a hobby. All of it has been done in fun with the thought of it actually happening being a just out of reach idea.
For one, it all those years we've searched, only once did we find a piece of property that really fit the criteria we were looking for. That place was snatched up in a few days with a cash offer. Evidently, small acreage level lots with privacy that don't cost a fortune are harder to come by then we thought. :-)
And then one day while driving home from Drew and Ashleigh's house Troy spotted this:
Just a small sign stuck at the side of the road. After a quick U-turn, he got out and did a quick walk around.Within a couple of days, he had me out there as well. It didn't take us long to realize there was a lot of potential in this one acre lot. Over the next couple of weeks, Troy researched the lot with the county, talked with the owner, and we visited the spot several more times.
Finally, in October after a lot of prayer and discussion we decided to take the plunge. With that, the adventure has begun!
